Eastern Mercer County's first gristmill, built in 1799 by Valentine Cunningham, drew settlers to the village then known as Pine Grove. Several historical markers downtown on Broad Street describe noteworthy buildings, events and people related to Grove City. Three murals depict scenes related to the town's history; one is at 118 S.
